This happens when the basic modalities of work, rest and nutrition are not being followed. We can kick start your body off to new and better gains from your workouts.
There are clients who come to us who are working out themselves or have worked with other trainers looking for a quick fix, which we can't provide for them. Our goal is long term structured planning to optimum fitness where we can provide them with the body and fitness level they desire. Effort alone will only give you a certain amount of results and then it stops. We offer you over 20 years of experience, plus we have the commitment to helping you become the best you can be. To achieve optimal results over a long time you need a plan that is geared to getting optimal results. We stress planning because without a plan you do not know where you are going and how you are going to get there. Your plan needs structure where you have a base and then upon that base you build the type of body you desire. Below we have included our base plan. AFC's 6 Phase Training Program
Phase 1 - Our first goal is to correct flexibility imbalances before we can do any other type of training. We use four different stretching methods to enhance your flexibility and the elasticity in the muscles and joints returning the body to correct posture. When an individual has been inactive for a number of months or years their muscles shorten, tighten, and lose strength. These factors affect a person's posture, joint stiffness, low back, knees, neck, etc., creating painful joints and less mobility which leads to bad posture, rounded shoulders, a sway back, protruding neck, low back pain, knee and hip injuries.
Phase 2 - builds upon the work from phase 1. Once we correct your posture we have to strengthen the stabilizers to maintain it. As your body ages the major stabilizers of the upper back, abdominal region, and the gluteus region become weak and lose their firing impulse from the brain. In phase 2 we stimulate this impulse by activating it with specific exercises to re-establish this connection. These exercises also strengthen your stabilizers at the same time. Phase 2 reactivates these muscles.
Phase 3 - Once we have strengthened the stabilizers to maintain correct posture in a static position we then have to train the body to maintain stability while in motion. In phase 3 we use movements that improve the functional flexibility of the entire body. These movements are exercises that require you to use the major stabilizers from phase 2 to stabilize the body as you are going through Phase 3 exercises. They increase the range of motion around the joints and the elasticity of the muscles. By using exercises that strengthen and improve flexibility we are able to create positive stable movements in multiple directions.
Phase 4 - continues to build upon phase 1,2, & 3. We use the improved stability developed from phase 1, 2, & 3 to train the abdominal, upper body, and lower body in a unit instead of isolating single muscle groups. This is called core training.
Phase 5 - The two factors that affect physical aging is strength and flexibility. When you reach phase 5, we start to increase strength by using traditional weight training equipment, free weights, and weight machines. Our goal is to make you as strong as we possibly can. The stronger you are, the more energy you have.
Phase 6 - is the last phase. It is the power phase in which you learn to move, walk, run, jump, and live as you did before with energy, flexibility, power, and without pain. Your rebirth is complete.
