The
general public seems to be constantly looking for the latest and greatest in health/fitness crazes and fads. TV infomercials are the most popular form of advertisement and promotion of health and fitness products or equipment. "As seen on TV" exercise equipment will always guarantee instant weight loss, six-pack abs, tight buns, firm thighs, and toned legs and arms.
A few of these TV gadgets, include the Perfect Pushup, Thighmaster, Body by Jake, Bowflex and most
recently, the Shake Weight. Because of media exposure and promise of success, these fitness products may seem to be worth the
buy. One thing that most of the exercise equipments all have in common (besides being portable, resourceful, and an inexpensive way to get in shape) is
that they can be used at home. Getting tight, firm, flat and lean in
the comfort of your home is what makes TV fitness equipment very desirable.
However, with any home workout program, staying focused, motivated and
dedicated to your fitness routine is the major factor.
Based
on expert advice from some of the major fitness gurus, organizations and councils, the majority of
the TV products are limited, deceptive, cheaply manufactured or just badly
designed. "Diets or exercise equipment that promise quick results
are a falsehood". What
fitness enthusiast would allow money to go to waste buying fitness equipment
that has no practical value or may be limited in the benefits it may provide? TV workout devices eventually become
decorative items stored in the back of the closet, basement or garage.
